The cliff hotel is certainly a very nice place to stay near the Bulgarian beach. It you prefer a more quiet stay , compared to the very touristy Obzor town , then this is a nice location. There are some kids but never too crowded . The hotel is located about 3.5 km from Obzor . There are no shops nearby so a car is required specially in the summer heat. The sun , during July summer , will pop up around 8 am above the hotel building and after 18h30 the main pool area is in the shadow. Plenty of time to get burned like a shrimp. During my visit both of the main parasols were broken and the maintenance is really bad on that . Plus these parasols look like they are build to fail with some very poor construction. Luckily finding shade it easy here . The pools are really nice and look well maintained at first glance , but of course there are things to complain about . There are three pools on different levels connected by a small run of shallow canals and some ‘waterfall’ . Great for bigger kids . Although it’s a 4 star hotel it really needs a good makeover or better regular maintenance. I mean it’s not that hard to fix two parasols or the locks on the toilet doors . The pools should also be renovated more thoroughly. But overall a very nice hotel and no major complaints. Nearby is the Marina Sands hotel . Also a four star hotel but it looks way more fancy and better maintained. Plus the do have a beach with sunbeds. The Cliff might state that they have a beach but first of all the stairs on the steep cliff are looking very dangerous and not at all for people with some difficulty walking . It seems that part of the cliff came down and took down a big part of the concrete stairs. They ‘fixed’ it with an abomination of a wooden stairs ! Plus there are no beach amenities, nothing ! See my comment on Marina Sands. Oh yeah the WiFi Spotty at best even though they are using ubiquity hardware and the connection at the pool is around 8mb download, still the frequent interruptions make it a bit hard to work if that is your thing during a holiday! That’s is why 4 stars for a four star hotel
